Private industry has long employed the Agile-Lean framework in establishing productivity, and federal agencies are also currently seeking and implementing new ways of competing. GovernmentCIO has continuously been at the forefront of this change. We work with several federal agencies supporting their transition to efficiently produce and deliver products to their internal and external customers. With great success, GovernmentCIO brought Agile Transformation solutions to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our work helped VA to be recognized as the only agency to fully address the three factors needed for incremental development required by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
Over the past several years, VA encountered numerous concerns in their pursuit of serving the nation's Veterans. One major area of growth is how they produce technical products and systems used by VA hospitals and health centers, Veterans, and VA employees. The increased urgency in getting newer, faster, more secure products compelled the VA to adopt an Agile approach. After reviewing the considerable savings in both functionality and cost, the need for the agency to implement similar strategies became clear. From here, VA Agile Transformation was born.
From its inception in 2013, GovernmentCIO has helped over 70 VA projects make the transition from Waterfall or Agile-like processes to full-functioning Agile procedures.
