Description:
Join the GW Tech Alumni Group as they host their lifelong learning event for the 2011 Spring semester featuring experts in cloud computing. This event's focus is "Securing the Cloud". Expert panelists will be on hand to discuss challenges and experiences with securing the cloud environment from both industry and academic perspectives.

The panelists represent organizations on the cutting edge of cloud use. They will share experiences where the cloud has been an indispensable tool in minimizing the impact of attacks, and address the challenges organizations encounter in moving to the cloud. Speakers will also focus on how the cloud can be used to enhance site security and provide an additional layer of protection for customer's data.

Among the topics to be discussed:
- Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS) security,
- difficulties in securing the cloud,
- trade-offs between cost and functionality,
- best practices, and
- lessons learned.
